Retired looking for a more comfortable life in the garden
Much like many of our customers, this elderly, retired couple wanted a more comfortable life when it came to the maintenance and upkeep of their sizeable garden.
Their lawn is split in two by a paved pathway in the centre, creating two separate areas of grass to keep up with which they found to be too much of a strenuous chore. This is where we were able to step in to create a beautiful lawn with the lowest maintenance required.
To complete this project, we first began by digging up the customers’ existing turf and topsoil using a turf cutter, disposing of any waste readily.
Next we filled the spaces available with our multi-layered sub-base, beginning with geotextile membrane, which acts as a barrier to prevent the growth of weeds and plants through the artificial grass.
After this, a layer of crushed dolomite stone was compacted down, followed by a layer of screeded granite dust.
The combination of these two materials forms a solid, smooth surface that prevents any subsidence and provides a level ground for the grass to be laid on top of.
Next our installers fitted a total of 30m2 of our award-winning Easi-Chelsea grass.
This particular artificial grass is the most popular amongst our customers because of its’ natural appearance and soft feel underfoot.
Finally, the grass had a layer of kiln-dried sand brushed through to give it some extra weight and keep the blades looking pristine and upright.
The finished results can be seen in our before and after pictures, leaving our customer ecstatic with their new easy to manage back garden.
